Dénia· Calle Flor de Nesprer 4, 03700 Dénia

CO-CO – COliving & COworking Costa Blanca

A five-room villa on the hillside between the Montgó and the sea, run as a small house rather than a hostel.

About the house

A five-room villa above Dénia, run as a coliving house with an attached day-pass coworking space. Adults only, 21 and over, eleven-night minimum. It suits solo remote workers and couples who want a house with four other people in it rather than a building with thirty.

The house

A Mediterranean villa with a round tower, on a hillside above Dénia, open since the end of 20231. Five rooms: the Roof terrace at 18 m² with a sea view and an open-air rooftop bathroom, the Pool house with a panoramic window onto the pool, Oleander, and Almendra and Agave sharing a bathroom2. Every room has its own desk and every bathroom a rain shower.

It is a small house, and the operator is direct about what that means: “If you prefer to be alone all the time and are only looking for a CO-working space, we might not be the right place for you”3. Five rooms is not a crowd you can disappear into.

The setup, in principle

One four-metre wooden table indoors facing the sea, plus a silent focus room with armchairs where talking to a seated person is forbidden — the opposite of a call booth, and there is no call booth. The terms enumerate the rest of the working positions: a table in the Naya, a large table on the outdoor deck, the outdoor kitchen counter, a standing table in the garden, a table on the terrace between pool and house, and a hammock and tree desk in the garden4.

Coworking areas run 08:00–19:00 for day-pass holders, who may not be on the premises outside those hours. Whether residents may use them later is not stated by the operator; one third-party listing claims round-the-clock resident access, unconfirmed.

Meals are not included — two kitchens, a barbecue, a coffee flatrate, and a bar that operates at times. A House Facilitator handles check-ins and helps organise activities, and explicitly does not do the cleaning.

The hill, and the town below it

The house sits above the town between the Montgó and the sea, and the distance down to either is the thing every source disagrees about. The beach is variously 1 km, 2 km, a 25-minute walk and a 30-minute walk, and the operator publishes no walking distance at all. Anyone planning to live without a car should settle that question before booking, not after.

Alicante and Valencia airports are both about an hour and ten minutes by car5, with coaches from both to Dénia bus station, where the operator will collect you. There is no mainline railway: Dénia is the terminus of TRAM line 9, and reaching Alicante means changing at Benidorm, roughly three hours.

What is still open

The operator markets community hardest, and third-party reviews are where to test that claim6. They are other people’s reading of a house nobody here has stayed in — a reason to go and look, not a finding. Unsettled, and worth settling: the real walking time to the beach, the actual internet speed, and whether residents can use the coworking rooms in the evening.

The social side

The operator is unusually direct about who the house does not suit, and says in its own FAQ that somebody who wants to be alone and only needs a desk is probably in the wrong place. Five rooms means the social side is not optional in the way it is in a larger building.

Suits

People who want a five-room house rather than a thirty-bed one and will actually join in; anyone needing a genuinely silent room for deep work; couples, since every room takes one or two; road cyclists and hikers, with the Montgó on the doorstep.

Does not suit

Anyone travelling with children — the operator says plainly it cannot meet their needs; anyone under 21; anyone wanting fewer than eleven nights; anyone who needs a supermarket within walking distance.
